DAY 22

Olympics on the road....
I am still a little :( about the mens road race for all sorts of different reasons:

1. Even though I knew a GB win was a huge ask, it didn't stop me hoping.

2. I was also sad face about Vino winning; I've never been a Vino fan even without all the controversy!

3. Fabian's crash, he cried, I cried, we all cried in our house

Things that made me :)

1. I was so terrifically proud of all Team GB on the day; they couldn't have tried any harder.

2. The crowds, even if they were a little over enthusiastic at times

3. Bernie Eisel joining Team GB for a while (what a top bloke he is).

4. Further evidence of his general niceness is here.

The womens road race was really exciting to watch, with Marianne Vos and Lizzie Amitstead duelling it out all the way to the line in truly awful weather.  What an advert for womens cycle racing.

The Mens Time Trial was a brilliant spectacle, especially if you were British.  Not only were Wiggo and Froome in Gold and Bronze, but Tony Martin took Silver between them.

The Womens Time Trial was won by the extraordinary Kirsten Armstrong, with Judith Arndt in Silver and Olga Zabelinskya picking up the bronze.

There really is something special that happens to everyone when the Olympics come to your country; I'll never forget it.
