In Bernie's defence though, it was never him moving- everyone else left him so, really, they should feel bad for leaving Bernie on his own. Yeah, I definitely think Bernie likes it where he is

Or he'll be all 'Fine, you can have each other. I'll just spend all my time on the phone with George then.'

From what I've read the HTC breakup was never clear cut and if Cav had stayed then they may have had a new sponsor on board so Bernie prob would have stayed too and made a new team. Who knows, thing is Bernie is happy, Cav is happy (well happier than at Sky), Mark just needs to think where he can be happy at now.

Must be weird getting contracts, I guess they all have agents, but still all that worry about getting one on the right terms with the right team, can you trust the words that teams say re the support you'll get, can you get out of your contract if you are unhappy. and on top of that they have to race a bike.

Ohh a 'cutting his nose off to spite his face' Berniewould be a fine thing to see. George would like that, but Bernie would miss Tony in the end.

I always thought that if they had found a sponsor, then Cav would have stayed. I mean he was never going to get that total support he did at HTC anywhere else. It definitely seems to have worked out in the end, though (apart from Renshaw, but he'll be fixed after this season when he gets back to Cav)

TBH, though, I don't think Sky ever set out to hurt Cav like that. It just happened to be they didn't realise how much they'd actually need to support Brad and that had to come first. They should have realised, though. How many other teams managed to go for yellow and green at the same time? Like if it hadn't been for Robbie, Cadel might have won the Tour a long time ago. Or something like that

I think George might be able to distract Bernie long enough to fix everything and then they'd all be back together and everything would be okay

Yeah, it's a sort of chicken and egg thing really. Prob sponsorship hung on Cav being on board, and Cav couldn't really sign unless he knew what the deal was. Yes Renshaw needs to be happy and I hope he goes to OPQS.. if they have the money... and the room... who will they have to drop though?

Who knows? but yes, they certainly didn't start with a plan that said "Hah, lets's see how much we can mess Cav around". I think it was a case of too much to resist on both sides; but then the reality of getting yellow kicked in and they should have known that getting both was too much. I don't know the Robbie and Cadel story. But the team chose green over yellow?

Of course he would.

I still Cav would have chosen to stay at the end of the day
I just hope they do manage to find room for Renshaw somehow

At least they know now that they can't do both so no one else has to suffer like Cav did
It might not even be the same, but they clearly couldn't work for both either. They should have known it, too- having a sprinter as good as Robbie would obviously have meant less support for Cadel, but whatever. It doesn't seem like Robbie or Cadel had much of a problem with it, though, or they wouldn't have stayed on the same team for so long.
